Dr. Amy Valet is a Nashville native and is pleased to serve her hometown community. Dr. Valet graduated from Christ Presbyterian Academy. She received her Bachelors in Science summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she was a Whittle Scholar. She received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine on the Love Scholarship and completed her Dermatology Residency at Vanderbilt as well, serving as chief resident during her final year. Since completing residency in 2011, Dr. Valet has worked at Vanderbilt University and in private practice. She is thrilled to be joining the medical community at St. Thomas West.
Dr. Valet enjoys all aspects of dermatology, but her primary professional interests are the prevention and treatment of skin cancer; treatment of complex medical disorders such as psoriasis; and cosmetic skin rejuvenation.
When not at the office, Dr. Valet can be found working in her garden and playing with her three boys. She serves on the Board of Trustees at Christ Presbyterian Academy and is active in her church.
Dr. Valet is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, and the Nashville Dermatology Society. She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Robert Valet is a native of Rochester, New York. He earned his bachelor of arts degree summa cum laude from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he was awarded the Weinstein Prize in Internal Medicine and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Valet completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Vanderbilt University, where he subsequently worked as Assistant Professor of Medicine prior to co-founding Traceside Dermatology and Allergy.
Dr. Valet has written numerous first-author publications in his field. He has been featured in local, national, and international news media.
Dr. Valet is fluent in Spanish and enjoys incorporating his foreign language skills into his practice. He has served as both a volunteer Spanish interpreter and a volunteer physician at Siloam Family Health Center. When not treating patients, Dr. Valet enjoys coaching baseball and playing with his three boys. He is also active in his church.
Dr. Valet is a fellow of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology, and board-certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Casey Shaba is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in dermatology at Vanderbilt, where she served as chief resident, and her dermatopathology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Shaba has practiced both general dermatology and dermatopathology in the Nashville area since 2011 and we are pleased to welcome her to Traceside. She brings with her ten years of patient care experience. Dr. Shaba has a special interest in medical dermatology and the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Shaba lives in Nashville with her husband, Steve, a radiologist and her three children. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Britney Hayslip, PA-C, is a native of Franklin, TN. She graduated from Franklin High School and Belmont University and worked in dermatology prioro to her career as a PA. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University and is a board-certified physician assistant.
Britney enjoys spending time outside of work with her husband, family, and new Bernese Mountain dog puppy! She enjoys treating all dermatologic conditions and is excited to be a part of our Traceside family!
